This is Part 2 of the 2025 Year-end report.
Notes:
Thank you to the Allen County Coroner's office for their continued cooperation in providing timely information and making it available to Remembering Fort Wayne Homicide Victims.
Thank you to #JAVA (Justice, Accountability & Victims Advocacy) for supporting this project.
I began compiling this information and data in 2009 to memorialize the names of the victims so that they would not be forgotten. At the time, there was no central location for homicide victim data available to the public. The media, at the time, only gave lip service to homicides as a way of sensationalizing their news products to create more readers/ratings and increase corporate profits. As the headlines faded, so did the media's interest in the victims and their grieving families. Beginning first on Facebook, and then founding the blog Remembering Fort Wayne Homicide Victims, I wanted the family and friends of homicide victims to know that their loved ones will not be forgotten, and to make the geographic and demographic data about these homicides available for research and reference.
The information that drives this effort comes from the official notices from the Allen County Coroner's office and is supplemented by FWPD yearly reports and from individual victim obituaries, all cross-referenced for accuracy. If you see an error, please contact me at <radiofool@gmail.com>
