The term is neutral and doesn't assign blame. Indiana's homicide statutes are in Title 35, Chapter 1 of the Indiana Code.

Remembering Fort Wayne Homicide Victims does not track suicides, however, in the case of a homicide/suicide, the coroner’s release may contain the suicide victim’s name, as is the coroner’s protocol and legal, and statutory requirements as contained in Indiana Code, Section 36-2-14-18. In keeping with transparency, Remembering Fort Wayne Homicide Victims does not edit or redact information in the coroner’s releases.

Homicides occurring outside of FW City limits are listed as “county” which can include New Haven, Harlan, Grabill, and others.
