I've been tracking Fort Wayne/Allen County homicides since 2015. I began doing this because inaccuracies and confusion in the media coverage frustrated me. While the Journal Gazette has tracked homicides, I did not like their layout and no one in the media, at the time, was tracking geographic and demographic information.
Another, perhaps the foremost reason for doing this, is to memorialize the names of the victims. So often, the media tend to forget the victims, focusing on the accused perpetrators...when and if anyone is ever arrested and tried for the crime.
I began this blog a few months ago so I could better archive and log the names and data in a central location. It has been brought to my attention that the complete list of victims from January 2016 forward has not been posted on this blog.
