The Allen County Coroner has identified 17-year-old Mario Davaughn Smith Jr. as the 24th homicide victim of 2023. His death ties the number of homicides from 2022.

The Allen County Coroner has identified 34-year-old Vanessa Lynn Brabson as the 22nd homicide victim of 2023.

The Allen County Coroner has also identified 33-year-old Sean Thomas Brabson as the 23^rd homicide victim of 2023.

According to published media reports, the Allen County Coroner has identified 40-year-old Kevin Ray Davis as the 21st homicide victim of 2023. Mr. Davis died on August 12, 2023. The coroner ruled his death to be a homicide on 10/17/2023.

The autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin for the individual

found deceased within the Maumee River, 800 block of Tecumseh, in Fort Wayne, on Thursday,

September 28,  2023, at approximately 17:26 hours. The decedent was pronounced deceased at the

scene by the Fort Wayne  Fire Department. 

He has been positively identified as Austin Michael Seiman a male, White, 19 years of age from

Fort Wayne,  Indiana. 

Austin Michael Seiman’s Cause of Death has been determined to be Multiple Gunshot Wounds,

and the  Manner of Death is Homicide. 

Austin Michael Seiman is the 19th Homicide for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2023. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen

County  Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
